Still, She Carries

Weaponized incompetence

Or outright inconsideration

Deliberate manipulation

Or simply a character flaw

Unwillingness to change

Inability to care

Already buckling beneath the weight

Still, more is placed upon her shoulders

Heaven forbid she forget

Or make a mistake

While she loses herself in the care of everyone else

No one sees her falling

Deeper and deeper into the guilt of her resentment

What appears as physical exhaustion

Rides the coattails of emotional turmoil

That boils beneath the surface

Yet she wakes every new day

To the exact same day as before
